Your own Lightroom Splash Screen

Do you know the splash screen of Lightroom? This is the picture which is shown while the starting process of Lightroom. There you can see the developers and which release you have installed.

This is the standard splash screen:

When you use Lightroom 5 (it doesn't work with older versions) you have the possibility to change this picture. Consider, that your system folders are all visible. The default setting is invisible, but you can change this at the control panel of your windows. Then you have to find this folder in your windows:

C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Splash screen. Even system folders were visible I did not find the AppData-folder. But there is a way to jump directly to it: by using Start -> Run. Type %appdata% there and hit enter.

It could be, that you won't find the folder called "Splash screen" in the lightroom-folder, so you just have to create it. I had to do so. It doesn't make any difference if it is already there or if you create it.

You can put every image in this folder and it will be shown while starting lightroom. The only thing you have to consider is the maximum size of 900 x 600 pixels and the file format has to be .dwg or .jpg.

Lightroom on my notebooks shows the logo of my website:

Does it work with your lightroom. Any questions: please contact me. I hope the tip was useful.
